Last October Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado put on a show for boxing fans around the world through seven rounds before referee Pat Russell called the fight to a halt as he felt that Alvarado was unable to defend himself. The bout was arguably the fight of the year, and although fans and critics across the globe expressed their opinions that the fight was ended too soon, it went above and beyond expectations.

No boxing fan who was sitting on the edge of their seats October 13, 2012 watching these two warriors go to battle was ready to see the fight end, and come March 30, they will get part 2 when Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios (31-0-1, 23 KO) and “Mile High” Mike Alvarado (33-1, 23 KO) lace up the leather again to pick up where they left off.
The fight will be live from the renowned Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and tickets for this exciting bout will be available for sale tomorrow, Friday February 1 at 3 p.m.
Part two of this action packed war between two of the division’s top fighters has the billing to again make for a fight of the year candidate, and possibly skyrocket the battle into one of the sport’s best matchups. It can easily be compared to Ali-Frazier, Gatti-Ward, and Hagler-Hearns.
When the bell sounded to commence the first round of their fight less than four months ago, both fighters stood toe-to-toe, exchanging one vicious blow after another. The fight was so evenly matched, it would’ve come down to the smallest of margins if the fight went the full distance.
Come March 30, fans can expect to see more of the same, as Alvarado will be anxious to prove that the fight was stopped to soon, while Rios will look to show he is the dominant fighter of the two.
Rios-Alvarado is what makes boxing special and standout from other sports. Rather than ducking one another to pad their records, or avoid the chance of defeat, both men are eager to wage war in a fight that they know regardless of winning or losing, they are going to be in an all-out battle.
