Jaimie McDonnell vs Stuey Hall Confirmed

BRITISH boxing’s biggest bantamweight fight for years will take place at Doncaster Dome on Saturday 3rd September.

That is when Jamie McDonnell and Stuey Hall will meet in a sensational triple title battler that promises to a ‘Fight of the Year’ candidate.

McDonnell (17-2-1) who will have hometown advantage is risking his European and Commonwealth crowns, while Darlington’s Hall’s (11-0-1) British title is on the line.

Promoter Frank Maloney said: “I cannot believe how well tickets are going already, but that shouldn’t surprise me.

“Fans want 50-50 fights and I don’t think there are many neutrals that would be confident predicting a winner.

“Stuey has been calling for this fight and Jamie has stepped up the plate by agreeing to it.

“It is too early to say what awaits the winner, but that person would be in the world title shake up.”

Maloney has put together a top class undercard for the show that is being screened lived by Sky Sports when they kick off their new season with this knockout show.

Olympic bronze medallist Tony Jeffries (8-0-1) has his first fight this year having recovered from surgery and is looking at a clash next year against British and Commonwealth champion George Groves next year.

Maloney will also be matching two unbeaten light-welterweight prospects Joe Hughes (3-0) and Chad Gaynor (5-0) against each other.

British super-featherweight champion Gary Sykes (18-1) will box a non-title fight against a selected opponent.

In a West Yorkshire derby former Leeds’s British super-featherweight champion Carl Johanneson (30-5) meets Bradford’s Femi Fehintola (21-2) in a crossroads fight

Tickets are now on sale prices at £35 and £70 (Ringside) from www.frankmaloney.com and 0871 226 1508
