Fury vs. Klitschko 2 is Coming… But Who Cares?

Fury vs. Klitschko 2 is Coming… But Who Cares?

On Saturday, October 29th, from the Manchester Arena in the United Kingdom, the rematch for the Undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world will take place against the former champion Wladamir Klitschko and the current titleholder Tyson Fury. But for some reason, nobody is talking about it.

The last time each man has fought in a professional boxing match will be 11 months to the day, when they squared off against each other in Dusseldorf, Germany, when then champion Wladamir dropped his first loss in eleven years to the up and coming Fury. Fury took home a unanimous decision win, as well as the WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine championship belts, in a fight that was very lackluster and not fan friendly.
The contract had a rematch clause in Klitschko’s favor, which he enacted pretty straight away, but for some reason, it has taken almost one year for either of these men to get into the ring with one another.

The fight was initially scheduled to take place in the summer of the following year, 2016, but was delayed due to a shoulder injury Klitschko suffered while training for the bout. Many thought it was a ploy to get into Fury’s head, prolonging the fight and throwing a wrench into his opponents training camp.
After that was squared away, the fight was postponed yet again, this time when Fury claimed to have severely sprained his ankle while sparring (many suggested that he hurt his ankle while partying during the Euro Cup soccer tournament in France).

Then, to add more madness to this already maddening rematch, Klitschko took Fury to court over the Fury camp trying to change terms in the rematch clause:

Dear fans, I just wanted to keep you updated on the status quo of my rematch against Fury, ‘Team Fury is trying to change the terms of an already signed contract multiple times. This is going on endlessly. ‘To protect my own rights and to eventual have the rematch, I am forced to go to court.’

As far as anyone knows, as of right now, the fight seems to be taking place on schedule (again) on the 29th of October. This will be only the second time that Klitschko has attempted to avenge a previous loss (Loss to Lamon Brewster in 2004, won rematch in 2007). And could be either the final fight for the legendary heavyweight. It could also be the continuation of Tyson Fury’s reign and stardom a top the heavyweight division. Only one month left to wait and see if this fight does happen.
