Ali Sculpture by Barrymore A. Moton

Barrymore A. Moton aka “B-More” is a talented resident artist currently working out of the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria in Peoria, Illinois. Moton is the creator of a new technique that he says will change the landscape in paper art – it’s called ” Neo-Mache’ Sculpting.” Moton says, Neo-Mache’ sculptures are art pieces comprised completely of 100% paper products. Influenced by the Japanese paper fold art called Origami and the 12′ scale of the GI Joe action figures from the mid 60s early 70s, Moton was able to create this unique concept in art.

“I began creating these works solely as action figures to amuse myself during play. Neo-Mache’ sculptures are one-of-a-kind works of art. My art pieces range from 21 to 28 inches in height and are quite durable. In fact, they are far more durable then porcelain,” says the artist who grew up in housing projects in Peoria, Illinois.

“Hopefully, views of my work will provide an experience in paper that you will never forget.”
