Atlantic City Show Postponed Due to Hurricane – New Date Oct 22

Star Boxing’s Saturday night (August 27th) show at the Tropicanca Casino and Resort in Atlantic City (NJ) has been postponed due to an intense and massive hurricane. The new date will be October 22, 2011, also at the beautiful Tropicana Showroom in the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City.

The hurricane (Irene), a historic storm with winds and gusting rain reaching up to 100 MPH, has forced numerous cities on the East Coast to evacuate, and Atlantic City has issued a mandatory evacuation order and a city wide shutdown.

Star Boxing, was to have featured, heavyweight fan favorite, Vinny Maddalone (33-7, 24KO’s), Atlantic City’s own welterweight contender, Shamone “The Truth” Alvarez (21-4, 12KO’s) in separate bouts. Super Middleweight knockout artist, undefeated Jason “El Monstruo” Escalera (11-0, 10KO’s) of Union, N.J. was also set to take another step in his promising career. Additionally, heavyweight Chazz Witherspoon and Kevin “Kid” Rooney were scheduled to be on the card. All fighters are expected back on October 22.

All who have purchased tickets in advance can use those same tickets for admission for the rescheduled date of October 22nd

Tickets for October 22nd are available by calling the Star Boxing office at (718) 823-20 [0.7642585551330798] 00 or visiting www.starboxing.com. Tickets are priced at $30, $50, $100 and $200.

Tickets may also be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet, or by going directly online to Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Tropicana North Tower Box Office or by phone at (609) 340-4000. Doors for the event will open at 7:00PM with the first bout scheduled for 7:30PM. All action will take place in the Tropicana Showroom. The Tropicana Casino and Resort is located at 2831 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ.
