CONCLUSION: Both men are very experienced and very accomplished. But if this
chart is any indication, it would appear that Hopkins is the fighter who has
had more of a “finishing kick” throughout his career, being able to finish
three times as many opponents in the second haves of his fights. Calzaghe
has 19 knockouts in either the first or second round, which may in part
reflect on the caliber of his overall opposition, particularly those in the
early portion of his career. Of course, since neither fighter has ever been
knocked out, the power factor may wind up being minimal.
