Booker T’s contract is said to expire this November reportedly refused to job or put over Matt Morgan at Tuesday night’s TNA IMPACT TV tapings in Orlando. Our sources say that Booker T made it clear to various TNA talent at last week’s overseas tour and again in the locker room at the TV tapings, he has options in The WWE and intends to return to that company once he is contractually able. While nothing is official, TNA sources are indicating that his days could be numbered. The word at this time is that he will appear at Bound For Glory and he and Scott Steiner will drop the TNA tag titles at the PPV or the tapings that will follow and not appear on TV or be booked in house shows from that point on. What this does to for the Main Event Mafia group from a TV perspective is the big question.
It also has been said that this isn’t the first time something negative backstage has happened with Booker T, as sources say as having a negative attitude in the locker room for months now. In As far as Matt Morgan goes, Booker T made it clear he wasn’t happy about the decision to put over Morgan when he found out about it on the overseas tour. There is said to be no heat between Booker T or Morgan. Booker T reportedly felt it was a mistake by TNA for him to lose the match on TV instead of the Pay-Per View. Booker T was said to have be fine about it during the tour and even had a lengthy conversation with TNA President Dixie Carter on Monday, only to turn around the next day and refuse to lose to Morgan at around 45 minutes before the start of the actual taping. Booker T was said to also have created quite a stir during the overseas tour in refusing to wrestle in a main event in Switzerland when fans threw chairs and other foreign objects into the ring. Booker and his wife Sharmell walked out on the match. Sheik Abdul Bashir came out to replace Booker T to conclude the show.
