City of Hope to Honor Jake LaMotta, Jackie Kallen, & Micky Ward at “KO Cancer”

City of Hope is excited to announce their huge KO Cancer event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on April 6, 2011. The night will be honoring three boxing personalities whose lives have inspired movies: Jake LaMotta (Raging Bull). Jackie Kallen (Against the Ropes) and Micky Ward (The Fighter.)

The evening’s emcee will be attorney and LegalZoom founder Robert Shapiro.

There will be two heavyweight bouts courtesy of All American Heavyweights and the main event will feature Mario Lopez (from “Extra”) against Jimmy Lange (from “The Contender.”) The referee will be former top contender Randy Shields. The ring announcer will be actor/comedian Joe Nipote.

Many boxing greats like Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini and Freddie Roach will be on hand to help City of Hope raise money for cancer research.
