Ali: The Greatest opens at Evolve the Gallery on Saturday, January 14th, 2012

Sacramento, CA — Evolve the Gallery will honor and pay tribute to Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday (January 2012) with a fine art exhibition that captures the essence and spirit of Ali’s most memorable moments. From 1960 to 1981, Ali won 56 of 61 matches, 37 by knockout. Not only is Muhammad Ali a former heavyweight boxing champion, he is a social activist, philanthropist, humanitarian and cultural American icon. Over 20 prominent and prolific artists from across the country and Europe will express their deep fondness for Ali in their own artistic way and in a wide variety of mediums. Some of the featured artists include: Adrian Pickett, Alvin Burts, Alex Forster, Corey Pickett, Charly Palmer, Gerry GOS” Simpson, Frank Morrison, Joe Iurato, James Gayles, James Henninger, Kadir Nelson, Kevin OKeith, Kelvin Curry, Kinzie Davis, Lauren Gillette, Lisa Alonzo, Paul Goodnight, Tim Okamura, international illustrator, Charles Bibbs, London artist Michael Grattan, renowned Muhammad Ali photographer, Michael Brennan; and multi-faceted artist David P. Flores who designed the image for the commemorative poster.

“Never has a fine art exhibition and sporting venue been better suited and matched,” states A.Michelle Blakeley, co-owner of Evolve the Gallery. “This venue promises to be something sports fans and art enthusiasts will not soon forget.”

In addition, the gallery plans to travel the exhibition to Las Vegas, the Bay Area, Los Angeles and the Muhammad Ali Center in Kentucky. A catalog will be created to document this historic event.
