Former Champion Hector “Macho” Camacho Shot And Critically Wounded

Earlier this evening it was reported that former two-divisional champion and Puerto Rican boxing sensation Hector “Macho” Camacho was shot multiple times while driving in Puerto Rico. Camacho was reportedly in a vehicle as a passenger when gunfire erupted and killed his driver, and the former champion sustained gunshot wounds to the neck and face. He was taken on scene to San Pablo Hospital in Bayamon, and at the time is listed in critical condition.

Boxing promoter Lou DiBella shared via Twitter, “I just received word that Hector Camacho Sr. was shot and wounded in Puerto Rico hours ago. Please join me in praying for him.”

His son, Hector Camacho Jr., has recently been in training for his upcoming fight on December 13 against Alejandro “El Elegido” Barrea. At this time we send our thoughts and prayers to be with the entire Camacho family, and will update this story as soon as additional information becomes available.
