Carl Froch regained his WBC Super Middleweight title with a masterclass boxing domination over Arthur Abraham in Helsinki, Finland. Froch won by unanimous decision on all three scorecards, using his height and reach advantage to completely neutralize Abraham. The German-based Armenian was ineffective for the entire fight and the previously dynamic punching machine seemed to shrink in stature when it was over. King Arthur’s elite status may never be regained after such a comprehensive defeat.
By using his jab and reach to launch punches from range, Froch, showing excellent footwork also, appeared to box like a super middleweight version of Vitali Klitschko. It was a brilliant exhibition of the pugilistic art at it’s very best and without question one of the finest performances in the career of Carl “The Cobra” Froch.
Froch will move on to the semifinals of the Showtime Super Six Middleweight tournament where he will face former light heavyweight champion and late addition to the tournament, Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson, for a slot in the finals.
