Brittany Delgado of Long Island defeated Natalie Gonzalez from New Rochelle in what was billed as the “Fight of the Moms!” This was for the 106 Women’s division title.
Lindsay Tolpa of Westchester County was beaten by an active Misato Kamegawa of Manhattan in a crowd pleasing 119 pound women’s bout.
Christian Castro (Brooklyn) fell to Oscar Moreno over the course of this 114 pound Novice bout. Moreno is the son of Samuel Moreno.
Jaime Estrada who hails from New Windsor and fights out of the Newburgh Boxing Club defeated Frankie Garriga of the Bronx, a former Golden Gloves winner. This contest settled who was the 123 pound Open winner.
Bertha Aracil of Yonkers out pointed Camile Currie, a former Golden Glove Champ and three times Metro Champ in an exciting 132 pound Woman’s match.
Cristino Ceballo (Brooklyn) out- scored the favored Patrick Day of Long Island in this hotly contested 141 pound Open championship. After the contest Day was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for this years event.
Sylvia Yero of the Bronx used her effective punching throughout this 125 pound Women’s bout to defeat Heather Hardy who resides in Brooklyn.
Christopher Galeano (Bronx) defeated the former Metro and Empire State Games Champ, Jeremy Fiorentino in a close fought 152 pound match.
Louis Cruz of the Bronx lost this 132 pound match to Marcos Suarez of Orange County, a former Golden Gloves Champ.
Daniel Girace who hails from Long Island was defeated by Max Tassy in this heavyweight bout.
In the 114 pound Woman’s division Christella Cepeda (Yonkers) lost to Kathleen Walsh of Long Island.
Steven Garrido of the Bronx was defeated by Michael Stoute of Long Island in the 123 pound Novice class.
Juan Roman from Brooklyn defeated Hamzah Aldulshanov for the 114 pound Open title.
Christina Cruz won the 112 pound Women’s title by out- scoring Susanna Mellone-Spence. Cruz, who is from Manhattan, is a former Golden Gloves and Nation Golden Gloves and she is an Olympic hopeful.
Luis Mancilla didn’t quite have what it took to defeat Prince Slaughter of Long Island in the 132 pound Novice division.
Julio Arce beat David Green of Brooklyn in the 165 pound Novice division. Arce is also an undefeated amateur MMA fighter.
Raul Nuncio of Long Island was defeated in the 165 pound class by Herve Duroseau, originally of Haiti and now living on Long Island. Huroseau is trained by former Metro Boxing president, Joe Higgins.
Nisa Rodriguez took a 5-0 decision over LaTarisha Fountain, who had defeated Rodriguez twice previously, to earn the 152-pound women’s title. It was Rodriguez’s first fight since giving birth in 2009.
