ARNAOUTIS MOVES CLOSER TO TITLE SHOT WITH DOMINATING PERFORMANCE OVER ANKRAH

The Pride of Greece, “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis took one step closer to a title shot with a dominating performance over very game Ben Ankrah.

Arnaoutis came out fast, bouncing on his toes and using his jab to measure up the African Ankrah. The southpaw Arnaoutis began unleashing his vicious left hand early in the third round, but to Ankrah’s credit he just kept coming forward. By the middle of the fight it was apparent Arnaoutis was content on boxing and scoring from the outside against his much slower opponent. Arnaoutis connected with some thundering blows throughout the fight, at times rocking Ankrah, but Ankrah was able to make it to the final bell.

After ten rounds of excited action “Mighty” Mike was awarded a well-deserved unanimous decision, winning by scores of 100-90, 100-90, 96-94. Arnaoutis improves his record to 21-2-2, 10KO while Ankrah drops to 19-7-1, 9KO.

MADDALONE STOPS NELSON IN THRILLER

In the fight of the night Star Boxing’s heavyweight Vinny Maddalone (31-4, 22KO) stopped Terrell “Baby Bull” Nelson (8-7, 5KO) in the second round.

Maddalone who has been thrilling boxing fans since he first turned professional, did not disappoint the pro Maddalone crowd as he chose to fight Nelson in a phone booth from the start of the fight. The two exciting heavyweights traded bombs from the get go, each giving as good as they got in the opening round.

At the start of the second round Maddalone jumped all over Nelson as Nelson was still showing the effects of the first round. Maddalone landed enormous over hand rights and left hooks while Nelson laid on the ropes. With Nelson taking severe punishment, the referee jumped in and called a halt to the contest at :45 seconds of the second round.
Results from the undercard:
