Pacquiao vs. Mayweather In The Congo?

Add the Democratic Republic of the Congo as the latest suitor eagerly angling to host the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Superfight on March 13, 2010. According to a published report in the Saturday December 12 edition of the New York Post, Congo President Joseph Kabila “is offering $30 million via Vincent Carroll, CEO of Vegas Style Entertainment, to Top Rank Boxing.”

The brief article, which was included in the gossip-oriented “Page Six” section of The Post, also states that Kabila hopes to use the mega fight as “the centerpiece of Congo’s 50th independence celebration.”

If the article is true, the bidding war offer by Kabila will trump the previous bids of $15, $20, and $25 million from such potential sites as the Los Angeles Staples Center, New Orleans Superdome and the new Dallas Cowboys stadium complex in Dallas.
