Pacquiao – Marquez: Full Undercard Results Timothy Bradley Wins

The undercard for tonight’s card features some exciting matchups, including top junior lightweights Luis Cruz against Juan Carlos Burgos, and possible challenger to Manny Pacquiao, Timothy Bradley , as he faces off against former lightweight title holder Joel Casamayor. Also on the undercard is the only man to ever hand Amir Khan a defeat, Breidis Prescott. The results of the undercard are as follows.

Luis Cruz (19-0) vs. Juan Carlos Burgos (27-1); Junior Lightweight

Round 1:

Burgos and Cruz come out to the center of the ring, and Cruz leads with a nice jab and two left hooks to the temple. Burgos jabs to the body and misses with an uppercut. Burgos lands a hook to the body of Cruz. Burgos with another jab to the body. Burgos lands a nice five punch combination finishing with a hook to the head. Burgos lands another combination starting at the body. Cruz lands a jab. Burgos lands two hooks to the body of Cruz. Cruz with a nice right hook to the body. Cruz lands a nice check hook to the head of Burgos. Cruz lands a jab to the body. Burgos lands another hook to the body of Cruz. Burgos lands another nice combination. Burgos lands another jab to the head of Burgos. Burgos lands another hook to the body near the end of the round. 10-9 round for Burgos.
Round 2:

Cruz lands a hook to the head and a two punch combination upstairs. Referee warns Burgos for low blows. Burgos goes right back to the body and lands a two punch combination. Burgos lands another combination starting upstairs finishing down low. Cruz lands a lead hook. Cruz lands with a hook to the body, and a right hand upstairs. Burgos with a hook to the body, but Cruz answers back with a jab cross combination upstairs. Burgos with another hook downstairs. Burgos misses with a three punch combination. Cruz with a right hook, and Brugos lands a left hook to the side of Cruz’s head that causes him to stumble. Close round, 10-9 for Burgos.

Round 3:

Both fighters come back out to the center of the ring and Cruz throws a double jab. Crus lands with a left uppercut. Burgos tries to work behind his jab but his punches miss his target. Fighters briefly clinch and are separated. Burgos lands a left hook and stuns Cruz. Cruz backing up and lands a nice left hook upstairs. Burgos with a jab to the body. Burgos throwing but not landing, and Cruz connects with a check hook. Cruz lands a right hook to the body of Burgos. Cruz misses with a two punch combination. Cruz is able to stay just out of the range of Burgos’ punches, and lands an inside uppercut. Cruz with another jab but misses. Cruz with an uppercut but it is partially blocked. Cruz lands a straight right hand to the body of Burgos. Burgos comes back and lands two jabs. Burgos has Cruz near the corner and lands a cross to the body, and a hook upstairs. Cruz throws some hard shots at Burgos by the ropes. 10-9 round for Cruz.

Round 4:
Cruz lands a hook upstairs, and the fighters exchange wildly in the center of the ring. Burgos lands two punches to the body of Cruz. Burgos lands a jab, and another hook to the body of Cruz. Burgos lands a hook to the head of Cruz. Cruz with a jab, backing Burgos up. Fighters clinch in the center of the ring, and when they separate Cruz lands a lead hook. Cruz ducks under Burgos’ punches and lands a hook. Burgos lands a hard left hook to the side of Cruz’s head. Cruz comes right back and backs Burgos up with a combination of his own. Some posturing by bother fighters, and Burgos lands a hook to the body while Cruz lands a hook upstairs. Burgos lands a short uppercut. Cruz with a reaching jab, and a short inside uppercut. Burgos connects with a jab. Another close round, 10-9 for Cruz.

Round 5:

Cruz comes out and lands a quick double jab. Burgos lands a four punch combination. Burgos misses with an inside uppercut. Fighters exchange furiously in the center of the ring but neither lands cleanly. Burogs lands a short lead left hook. A jab from Burgos backs Cruz up. Burgos with a two punch combination to the body. Cruz throws a right cross but does not connect. Burgos showing a lot of movement, and connects with an uppercut to the body of Cruz. Burgos backs Cruz up and lands another two punch combination. 10-9 round for Burgos.
Round 6:

Cruz lands a quick jab. Cruz backs Burgos up with a two punch combination. Cruz misses with a lead left hook. Burgos connects with a left hook. Burgos connects with a right cross. Burgos connects with a four punch combination upstairs. Cruz backs Burgos up, but Burgos connects with another hook upstairs. Burgos connects with a jab to the body of Cruz. Cruz lands a right cross to the body, and Burgos connects with two punches to the body of Cruz. Cruz misses with a right cross upstairs. Brugos lands a jab upstairs. Burgos connects with a jab as Cruz tries to come forward. Burgos bangs at the body of Cruz. 10-9 round for Cruz.

Round 7:

Burgos connects with an early jab. Burgos throws a two punch combination but misses. Cruz backs Burgos up with a double jab. Tony Weeks warns both fighters again for low blows. Curz misses with a lead hook, and Burgos lands two hooks to the body of Cruz. Cruz connects with a right cross. Burgos lands a lead left hook. Burgos lands another lead left hook. Cruz connects with a lead cross. Burgos lands a hard left hook, and the face of Burgos is starting to puff up. Cruz lands a jab to the head of Burgos, and Burgos comes back with two hooks to the body of Cruz, and finishes with a hook to the temple. 10-9 round for Burgos.

Burgos connects with a body head hook combination. Cruz tries to back up Burgos with two jabs. Burgos bangs at the body of Cruz with hooks to the body. Burgos lands a jab. Cruz pumps out a double jab but does not connect. Cruz with a jab to the body, and Cruz ducks under a Burgos hook. Cruz and Burgos miss with jabs. Burgos lands two hooks to the body of Cruz, and Cruz answers right back with hooks to the body of his own. Burgos connects with a jab. Burgos with another jab to the head of Cruz. 10-9 round for Burgos.

Mike Alvarado (31-0) vs. Breidis Prescott (24-3); Junior Welterweight

Round 1:

Alvarado and Prescott come out to the center of the ring, and Prescott throws an early jab and lead left hook. Referee stops the fight quickly to attend to the gloves of Alvarado. Prescott takes the center of the ring and flicks out two jabs. Alvarado lands a jab of his own. Prescott lands an uppercut and a lead hook. Alvarado lands a jab, and Prescott answers with multiple hooks that are partially blocked. Alvarado lands a short jab. Prescott lands two jabs. Prescott lands two short uppercuts to the cin of Alvarado. Prescott lands a cross to the head of Alvarado. Prescott with two jabs to the body of Alvarado. Prescott is sticking with his jab and working behind it. 10-9 round for Prescott.
Round 2:

Prescott throws out his jab again and is sticking behind it. Prescott using his jab well. Prescott ducks under an Alvarado cross. Presecott throws an overhand right hand. Alvarado lands his best punch so far with a right cross. Prescott with a jab to the body of Alvarado. Prescott with a nice two punch combination on Alvarado upstairs. Prescott lands two jabs in a row on Alvarado. Prescott lands two uppercuts to the body of Alvarado. Prescott lands three jabs upstairs on Alvarado. Prescott has Alvarado against the ropes and lands some nice combinations. Alvarado tries to answer back but Prescott is able to avoid his shots. 10-9 round for Presecott.

Prescott throws out and stays behind his jab again. Prescott throws out his jab again, and connects with a double jab. Prescott throws out a two punch combination and partially connects. Prescott throws out three hooks to the body of Alvarado. Prescott again throws out a double jab. Prescott controlling the action in the ring with his jab. Prescott lands a vicious left hook to the body of Alvarado. Alvarado connects with a straight right hand. Referee warns Prescott to keep his shots above the belt line of Alvarado. Alvarado lands two jabs on Prescott, and Prescott answers right back with his own jabs. Alvarado lands a nice right cross, and Prescott lands a hard uppercut near the end of the round. 10-9 round for Prescott.
Round 4:

Alvarado throws out and lands an uppercut to the body of Prescott. Prescott connects with two consecutive jabs. Prescott lands a lead uppercut on Alvarado. Prescott is banging against Alvarado defense and firing away. Alvarado is bleeding from his mouth. Prescott connects with two uppercuts and is beginning to hurt Alvarado badly. Prescott working his uppercuts nicely. Alvarado spits out some blood from his mouth. Prescott is looking more confident and has been avoiding most of Alvarado’s punches. Prescott again bangs against the defenses of Alvarado. Alvarado lands two left hooks, and the fighters exchange punches after the bell. 10-9 round for Prescott.

Round 5:

Alvarado throws two left hooks to the body of Prescott. Prescott begins to work behind his jab again, but eats a right hand from Alvarado. The jab of Prescott has been very effective throughout this whole fight. Alvarado lands a hook to the body of Prescott. Prescott gets through Alvarado’s defense with some nice uppercuts, but Alvarado hits Prescott with a hard hook upstairs. Prescott bangs at the body of Alvarado again, and the referee warns him to keep his punches up higher. Prescott is landing at a higher rate than Alvarado, but Alvarado is landing some harder punches this round. 10-9 round for Prescott.
Round 6:

Alvarado has a cut on his left eyelid. Alvarado lands a solid right hand. Prescott connects with a jab and avoids the punches of Alvarado. Prescott bangs another jab off the face of Alvarado. Alvarado lands a hard cross on Prescott. Alvarado lands some uppercuts on Prescott on the inside. Fighters exchange uppercuts in close, with Prescott landing the more effective punches. Prescott’s uppercuts are doing more damage. Fighters still exchanging punches in close, but Prescott appears to be landing the harder punches. Alvarado’s face is looking mangled. 10-9 round for Prescott.

Round 7:

Alvarado’s left glove has tape hanging off of it, and the referee stops the fight so he can retape it. Prescott throwing out his jab and tries to work behind it. Prescott gets tagged with a hard right hand by Alvarado. Alvarado lands a right cross, and Prescott answers with hooks to the body of Alvarado. Alvarado connects with a cross, and Prescott connects with a right cross of his own. Prescott lands a hard right hand. Prescott’s back is against the ropes, and Alvarado connects with some power shots. 10-9 round for Alvarado.

Round 8:

Alvarado throws out a his jab, and backs Prescott up near the ropes. Alvarado lands two consecutive jabs. Alvarado lands a hook to the body of Prescott. Fighters are in close and bang body shots off of each other. Alvarado lands a nice four punch combination inside. Fighters are exchanging hard uppercuts in close and both are landing hard shots. Both are exchanging in close, and Alvarado appears to be getting the better of Prescott. Prescott ducks under a right cross from Alvarado. 10-9 round for Alvarado.

Round 9:

Prescott and Alvarado exchange jabs in the center of the ring. Alvarado connects with jab, and Prescott misses wildly with a right cross. Prescott ducks under a cross from Alvarado. Prescott has a right cross blocked by Alvarado. Prescott bangs a hook off the body of Alvarado, and Alvarado answers with a hook to the body of his own. Alvarado throws a cross and partially connects. Alvarado throwing out jabs, but eats a jab from Prescott. Prescott connects with another jab. Alvarado lands a digging hook to the body of Prescott. Close round, but scored it 10-9 for Prescott.

Round 10:

Prescott throws out his jabs but has them partially blocked. Alvarado throws a right cross and partially connects. Prescott flicks out his jabs and connects with a couple. Alvarado connects with two hard right crosses and an uppercut. Fighters clinch near the ropes and are separated. Alvarado lands two hard uppercuts and Prescott is knocked down. Prescott looks hurt and is caught near the corner but is eating some hard uppercuts from Alvarado. Referee stops the fight as Prescott was clearly rocked from the uppercuts by Alvarado. Alvarado comes back in the last round to pull off the victory when he was down on the scorecards.
Alvarado wins by 10th round TKO at 1:53.

Timothy Bradley (27-0) vs. Joel Casamayor (38-5); Junior Welterweight

Round 1:

Bradley and Casamayor exchange blows in the center of the ring. Bradley trying to work behind his jab and backs Casamayor up. Bradley lands a short left hook. Bradley is applying the pressure and trying to back up Casamayor. Casamayor throws a two punch combination and Bradley ducks under it. Casamayor lands a left hand but Bradley lands a left hook of his own. Bradley connects with a right hand on Casamayor. 10-9 round for Bradley.

Round 2:

Casamayor throws out a jab to the body of Bradley but misses. Referee warns the fighters for headbutts. Bradley connects with a right cross. Broadley pounds some hooks to the body of Casamayor by the ropes. Bradley connects with two more hooks to the body of Casamayor. Bradley lands two right hooks and a right cross on Casamayor. Bradley has Casamayor by the corner and connects with some right hands. 10-9 round for Bradley.
Round 3:

Bradley bounces a jab off the head of Casamayor. Bradley lands a left hook and Casamayor goes stumbling back. Bradley lands a short left uppercut on Casamayor. Casamayor lands a jab to the body of Bradley, and Bradley answers with hard hooks to the body of Casamayor. Bradley lands a straight right hand through the defense of Casamayor. Bradley against lands a right cross on Casamayor near the corner of the ring. Bradley is dominating this fight and landing the cleaner shots so far. Bradley lands a hard right cross near the end of round 3.
Round 4:

Casamayor ducks under a cross from Bradley. Casamayor loses a point from the referee for tackling and holding Bradley. Bradley connects with a right cross near the middle of the ring. Bradley bounces off some hooks to the body of Casamayor. Casamayor lands a right cross off the head of Bradley. Bradley lands a good left hook on Casamayor, and lands another solid left hook. Bradley throws a hook to the body of Casamayor, and connects with a stiff jab. 10-8 round for Bradley.
Round 5:

Bradley stalking Casamayor again, and lands some digging uppercuts to the body of Casamayor. Bradley with a left hook to the body of Casamayor, and Casamayor goes down from the body shot. Referee gives Casamayor a standing eight count. Bradley throws another hard right hand to the body of Casamayor. Casamayor eating some hard bdoy shots from Bradley, and Bradley moves his shots upstairs to the head of Casamayor. Bradley digs again at the body of Casamayor, and has him caught in the corner. Bradley pounds another left hook to the body of Casamayor, and Casamayor is visibly hurt from those body shots. 10-8 round for Bradley.
Round 6:

Bradley goes back to the body of Casamayor, and lands a left hook and the referee gives him another standing eight count. Bradley rushes in with two hooks to the body of Casamayor. Bradley with a two punch combination upstairs, and goes back downstairs with two uppercuts. Bradley with a lead inside hook on Casamayor. Bradley connects with a straight right hand. Bradley with a stuff right cross and a hook on Casamayor to the body. Bradley landing some vicious body shots on Casamayor, and hits Casamayor with another stiff right cross upstairs. Another 10-8 round for Bradley.
Round 7:

Bradley connects with an early straight right cross. Bradley connects with another two punch combination on Casamayor. Bradley flicking out his jab and connecting at ease. Bradley easily ducks under a cross from Casamayor. Bradley is stalking Casamayor across the ring, and landing whenever he throws. Bradley connects with another right cross and a hook to the body. Bradley slips and his gloves touch the ground, but the referee rules it a slip. 10-9 round for Bradley.

Round 8:

Casamayor has to place his mouthpiece in at the start of the round. Bradley tags Casamayor with a short right uppercut. Bradley with another left hook to the body of Casamayor. Casamayor bounces two uppercuts off the body of Bradley. Bradley has Casamayor moving backwards, and connects with a solid left hook to the body and head of Casamayor. Bradley has Casamayor near the ropes and connects with a nice uppercut. Bradley landing more left hooks to the body and head of Casamayor. A left hook from Bradley sends Casamayor stumbling backwards. Casamayor looks to be on wobbily legs and eats multiple hooks from Bradley. Casamayor goes down from the withering body shots of Bradley. The corner of Casamayor stops the fight as the referee is in the middle of his standing eight count.
