Tony Luis Impressive in United States Debut

Cornwall, Ontario’s Tony “The Lightning” Luis made his United States debut last weekend, steamrolling over Columbian Andres Ledesma in one round.

No stranger to the province of Québec where he had fought his all 14 of his previous bouts, Luis, 24, put the shopworn Ledesma down with a vicious left hand to the body.

“[It was] short and sweet…too quick, I wish I could’ve shown more,” Luis told Boxing Insider on Thursday.

“All the more reason to come back again!”

So when will “The Lightning” strike again?

“Either October 27, back at Turning Stone again, or the December 1 on the Cotto/Trout undercard at the Garden..if not both,” said Tony, who also looks to fight back in Canada sometime soon as well.

“I don’t want to stray away completely from the Canadian scene; I made my bones here (in Montréal) and developed a good local following back in my hometown of Cornwall, but I’ll go wherever my career takes me. Fate will take its course.”
