Roy Jones & Danny Green in Pensacola Monday

Pensacola, FL (August 11, 2009) — Danny “Green Machine” and his camp took a two hour drive west from Biloxi to Pensacola on Monday to check out Roy Jones’ training facility on his 88 acre farm. Jones doesn’t get very excited about entertaining guests on fight week, as you can imagine, but he was hospitable in returning a favor.

Roy “Captain Hook” Jones Jr. will battle Jeff “Left Hook” Lacy on Saturday night in Biloxi and Green and Julio Cesar Dominguez will fight for the IBO Cruiserweight title line on pay-per-view.

“Danny was very friendly to me when I went down to Australia,” Jones said. “He wanted to check out my camp, so I welcome him.” Jones took Green on a tour which included the boxing gym, the workout room and the living quarters. Hanging on the walls surrounding a pool table are numerous stuffed animals including a ten-foot bull shark, a 2700-pound buffalo, two wild boar, a seventy-pound sea bass and two bobcats.

There has been some talk of Jones and Green fighting in Australia when each get by their opponents on Saturday night. “I would fight Green because it would be for the world cruiserweight title and I have never won the cruiserweight title; and I would probably be the biggest known fighter to ever fight in Australia in a major fight. Those are the two reasons why I would even accept the notion,” said Jones. “But you have to remember that is the farthest thing from my mind right now. Right now I am focused totally on Jeff Lacy, and I don’t think about anything that may or may not happen after August 15.”

“Coming here is no disrespect to my opponent on Saturday night. This is just part of the promotion of this fight,” said Danny “Green Machine” Green. “I wanted to come over here and see the digs where Roy Jones trains. I wanted to check it out. Right now I am thinking about fighting Dominguez on Saturday night. I know Dominguez has a big punch and I have to be ready for that because he’s going to come at me to try to knock me out.”

Green was then asked what he was going to do about that. Green grinned and said “I am going to knock him out, mate.”

“But after that I want to fight Roy Jones in a huge promotion in Australia.” Would Roy be a favorite in that fight? “He thinks he would,” Green deadpanned.
