Top Rank & Fox To Announce New Live TV Series

LAS VEGAS, NEV. (January 11, 2010) – Top Rank, Fox Sports en Español and FOX Sports Net will host a News Conference Luncheon This Thursday! January 14, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas – Muse Ballroom to announce the launch of Top Rank Live, the exciting new boxing television series. Lunch will be served at Noon with the news conference beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Joining executives from Top Rank, Fox Sports en Español and Fox Sports Net will be undefeated Top-10 junior middleweight contender and former U.S. Olympian VANES MARTIROSYAN (26-0, 17 KOs), trained by Freddie Roach, and his opponent, former IBF junior middleweight champion KASSIM OUMA (26-6, 18 KOs), who will rumble in the main event on Saturday night in The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Undefeated Top-10 featherweight contender and newly-minted Ventura County Police Academy graduate MIKEY GARCIA (18-0, 15 KOs), will also be in attendance. Garcia is trained by his older brother and one-time IBF junior lightweight champion Robert Garcia. Garcia will be featured in the co-main event in a battle with Mexican buzz saw JOKSAN HERNANDEZ (17-1, 10 KOs).

Top Rank Live, a two-hour broadcast, will air live on Fox Sports en Español on Saturdays, three times per month, beginning at 10 p.m. ET, though Saturday’s series debut will air at a special time of 11 p.m. ET. At least one show per month will originate directly from Mexico. Under this new partnership, Top Rank fights will also be distributed on FOX Sports Net (FSN) and its regional sports network affiliates, beginning with the first event on January 16. FSN will continue to distribute Top Rank events once a month thereafter through 2011.
