Vitali Eager To Oblige Haye’s Latest Challenge

David Haye promised he would fight the Klitschkos next year after his WBA title defense against Audley Harrison.

And it didn’t take long for one of the Klitschko brothers to respond.

Vitali Klitschko, the WBC Heavyweight champion told BBC Radio 5 that he wants to settle a contract for a 2011 date with Haye within “the next month”.

Vitali stated that he wants to fight Haye first because, “Wladimir will kill him.”

Haye guaranteed that he would fight a Klitschko next year in his post-fight interview in Manchester on Saturday night and also guaranteed that he would give either Klitschko brother the same treatment he had just meted out on poor Harrison. Vitali reply to BBC: “Stop talking. I’m ready to sign any time, let’s make the fight in spring time.”

Haye has disappointed his own supporters and boxing fans around the world by pretending to want to fight a Klitschko brother but repeatedly pulling out of contracts and negotiations with what many ring observers suspect are bogus excuses.

Vitali, who is the same age as the 39-year-old Harrison, apparently can’t wait to unleash his fists on the talkative Londoner. “No excuses any more, he talks too much, he’s a great talker, but the question is, is he a good fighter or not? He’s world champion by talking. Let’s fight. Let’s go.”

Vitali Klitschko said he and K2 would offer Haye a 50-50 deal and are prepared to fight him anywhere – London, Germany, or perhaps New York, Las Vegas or Atlantic City. “Let’s discuss where we would fight. Let’s fight in the United States. I listened to a great proposal for Madison Square Garden. I’m ready to fight in the U.S., Germany or Great Britain. Let’s make the contract. Straight-away, we are ready to sign the contract – I want to fight David Haye.”
