Maybe Try A Holistic Approach To Your Weight Loss

Many Buddhist masters live by the philosophy that their body is a temple, which is why they eat only fresh and natural fruits and vegetables. Taking care of your body is very important because the healthier it is then the better it will function. In fact, a variety of holistic approaches to health and wellness are based on Buddhist principles, which involve healing the mind, soul and the body. A holistic approach to weight loss not only helps you get to the root of your weight issue, but it also helps you identify unhealthy habitual patterns that may be inhibiting your success. When you heal the mind and soul, as well as the body, your ability to keep the weight off in the long term is greatly increased.

If you’ve been going through an unending weight loss cycle for more years that you care to count, then consider taking a holistic approach to your weight loss instead. The following information will help you get started.

The Body Imbalance — The body’s ability to lose weight in a healthy way is based on its core balance. If something is out of balance, such as a thyroid issue, then losing weight is going to be a lot more difficult. Before you even begin to think about losing weight, get a physical. Find out of you have any imbalances that may be impeding your progress.

Raw Natural Foods — Losing weight isn’t just about eating less, it’s about eating right. When you eat raw natural foods that are rich in nutrients, your body can used them more effectively. Even if you have a calorie limit per day, eating 1200 calories of raw natural foods is a lot better for your body than eating 1200 calories of junk food.

Enjoyable Exercise — Far too many people think they have to workout at the gym every day in order to lose weight. Yes, you need to exercise. But you don’t have to force yourself to do something you don’t want to do. Find an exercise that you enjoy and that makes you feel happy inside.

Heal Your Emotions — Many of us are overweight because of emotional issues that have absolutely nothing to do with food. If your relationship with food is based on emotional eating, then it won’t matter how much you exercise or diet. You have to heal those old, stuck emotions. Talking to a professional on a weekly basis can do wonders for your soul, as you rediscover yourself and heal old hurts. When you body releases old emotions, it creates a space for new joyful emotions to come in.

Get Some Rest. Our daily lives are filled with more commitments and obligations than we can possibly handle within a 24-hour period. That is why it is so important to set aside some time for you to take a few deep breaths, center yourself and get in touch with your inner self. If you “go, go, go” all of the time, your body will eventually create an illness or an accident in order to force you to rest.
