George & Francis’s Warren’s second show, Cruiserweight Division in Line for a Shake Up

Following a sell-out first event at York Hall, Queensberry Promotions returns to the venue on the 21st October for the British Cruiserweight Championship showdown between Stourbridge’s Rob Norton and Streatham’s Leon Williams, which will be broadcast live on BoxNation (Sky Platform 456)

Williams, who steps into the ring still well-tuned from his win against Nick Okoth in September criticised Norton about his lack of ring action since 2010, adding “Norton is over the hill, it’s time he stopped hoarding the British Cruiserweight title. His cruising time is over and I’m taking that belt home with me as its time the fight fans got a dynamic and exciting domestic cruiserweight division.”

With exciting Queensberry Promotions cruiserweight prospect Tony Conquest also looking for a shot at honours in his next few fights, Francis Warren is confident that Queensberry Promotions can begin to make waves in the domestic cruiserweight division, he said ” Norton vs. Williams will be an old fashioned dust-up, Leon is itching to get his chance at the British title and is confident he can take it home, but Norton is a tough customer, you don’t hold a British title for five years without being hard to beat! I’m sure the fight fans are in for a treat as this is Leon’s big chance whilst Norton will not want to let a title go that he has held on to for so long, it’s a tough one to call.

Francis added, “With the likes of Tony Conquest and Toks Owoh waitin g for the winner, there are some highly competitive fights to follow that will ensure that the belt will be contested far more regularly than in recent years.” Chief support sees Ryan Walsh, twin brother of Commonwealth champion Liam, take on Liam Richards for the vacant English Super-Bantamweight title.

Also on the bill the “Irish Lightning” Dean Byrne gets his London debut and some of Queensberry’s new crop of fighters including Liam Shinkwin and Danny Davis also get the chance to impress.

Tickets priced £40 and £60 are available from the Queensberry Promotions Box Office on 01992 550 888 or www.frankwarren.tv
